Camembert, Apple and Walnut Salad

  • 1 x wheel of Camembert (this was actually a kentish cheese that was similar)
  • Couple of handfuls of walnut halves
  • 2 x Apple
  • Bag of salad leaves
  • Lardons
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Good quality extra virgin olive oil

This serves two people

Begin by dividing the lettuce between 2 plates, slice and core your apple finely and add to the salad leaves. Sprinkle over the walnuts and slice the cheese into slices.

Fry the lardons in a small non-stick frying pan (no need to add any oil) until golden brown tip onto kitchen paper to soak up the fat, then add to the salad. Pour over the balsamic vinegar and some extra virgin olive oil and eat immediately.
